Description

A delicious and creamy espresso latte made with blended Medjool dates for natural sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 2 shots freshly brewed espresso
  • 1 1/2 cups milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: ice cubes for iced latte

Instructions

  1. Place the pitted dates in a small bowl and cover with hot water. Let them soak for 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Transfer the softened dates along with the soaking water into a blender. Add vanilla extract and sea salt. Blend until very smooth and creamy.
  3. Brew 2 shots of espresso and pour them into two mugs.
  4. Steam or heat the milk until hot and frothy, then stir in the ground cinnamon.
  5. Divide the blended date mixture evenly between both mugs with espresso. Pour in the hot milk, stir well to combine, and top with extra cinnamon if desired.
  6. Optional: For an iced version, pour over ice cubes and stir to chill.

Notes

  • This recipe can be adjusted for sweetness by adding more dates.
  • Using non-dairy milk is a great alternative for lactose-intolerant individuals.
