Description

Delicious and tender BBQ chicken made in a crockpot with cherry cola for a sweet twist.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cherry cola
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
  • 2 tbsp water (for cornstarch mixture)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the crockpot and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Layer sliced onions on top of the chicken.
  3. Pour cherry cola and BBQ sauce evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours until chicken is tender.
  5. Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot and mix with juices.
  6. For a thicker sauce, combine cornstarch with water, stir into the crockpot, and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Serve on buns or over rice.
