Description

Delicious homemade chocolate crepes filled with a rich chocolate filling and optional toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (plus more for greasing the pan)
  • 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Fresh berries (for garnish)
  • Crushed nuts (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Finally, add the melted butter. Let the batter rest for 20–30 minutes at room temperature.
  5. While the batter rests, place the chocolate and cream in a small saucepan. Warm over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and glossy. Set aside but keep warm.
  6. Heat a non-stick skillet (8-10 inches) over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.
  7. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the center, tilting the pan in a circular motion so the batter spreads into a thin, even layer. Cook for 1–2 minutes until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden. Flip and cook for another 30 seconds.
  8. Transfer to a plate and repeat with the remaining batter, stacking crepes between sheets of parchment.
  9. Spread a thin layer of warm chocolate filling down the center of each crepe. Roll tightly from one end, then place seam side down on a serving plate.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries or chopped nuts if desired. Serve warm for the best experience.

Notes

  • Letting the batter rest is key for tender crepes.
  • Keep the filling warm until ready to use.
