- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Rinse and dry blackberries; toss them with 1/4 cup sugar and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add milk and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour half the batter into a greased baking dish, layer with blackberries, then drizzle remaining batter on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
