Description

A delicious blackberry dessert perfect for serving warm with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse and dry blackberries; toss them with 1/4 cup sugar and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add milk and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Pour half the batter into a greased baking dish, layer with blackberries, then drizzle remaining batter on top.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
