Description
A delicious tuna melt sandwich made with high-quality tuna, cheddar cheese, and toasted bread.
Ingredients

- 1 can (5 oz) high-quality tuna packed in water, drained
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp finely diced onion (yellow or red)
- 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, diced onions, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread a generous layer of the tuna mixture and top with shredded cheddar cheese. Place the second slice on top with the buttered side facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, let cool slightly, slice in half, and serve hot with pickles or chips.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider using a mix of cheeses.
- Serve with a side of chips or a light salad for a complete meal.
