Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup ricotta cheese (preferably whole milk)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil or parsley, chopped
- to taste Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta, shredded mozzarella, and grated parmesan until well combined.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning, minced garlic, and fresh herbs gently to incorporate flavors without overmixing.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Dollop and smooth half of the cheese mixture over the sauce layer.
- Repeat by layering the remaining marinara sauce and finishing with the rest of the cheese mixture to create a lasagna-like layered effect.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
- Remove the dip from the oven and sprinkle additional fresh basil or parsley on top.
- Let the dip rest for a few minutes before serving to allow it to firm up slightly, making it easier to scoop.
Notes
- Serve with bread, crackers, or vegetables for dipping.
- This dip can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
