Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Fritos Peanut Butter Bars, perfect for a sweet treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 9 oz Fritos corn chips
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread the Fritos evenly across the bottom. Tip: An even layer helps the syrup coat without breaking the chips.
- Combine Sugar and Syrup: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the corn syrup and sugar.
- Microwave and Stir: Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir well.
- Bring to a Boil: Continue microwaving in 1-minute increments, stirring between each, until the mixture comes to a boil, about 3 minutes total. Tip: Bubbling across the surface means it’s ready.
- Add Peanut Butter: Carefully remove from the microwave and stir in the peanut butter until smooth and fully combined.
- Pour Over the Fritos: Pour the peanut butter mixture evenly over the Fritos, covering as much as possible. Tip: Do not stir or the chips will break.
- Let It Set: Let sit at room temperature for about 1 hour until fully set.
- Optional Chocolate Topping: Melt chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, then spread over the top.
- Slice and Serve: Allow the chocolate to set, then cut into bars and enjoy.
