- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
- 4 slices aged cheddar cheese
- 4 burger buns
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 cup lettuce (shredded)
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
Instructions
- Gather ingredients and finely chop the jalapeños.
- In a bowl, form the ground beef into four thick patties (about ¼ lb each). Avoid overworking the meat.
- Season both sides of each patty with salt and pepper.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400°F).
- Grill patties for about 3 minutes on one side, then smash them flat with a spatula.
- Cook for an additional 2 minutes, adding chopped jalapeños on top of each patty followed by cheese slices until melted.
- Serve hot on buns with lettuce and tomato.
