A delicious strawberry dessert cake made with pie filling or fresh strawberries, cake mix, and butter. Perfect for any occasion!

- 2 cans (21 oz each) strawberry pie filling or 4 cups fresh strawberries mixed with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 box (15 oz) yellow or white cake mix
- 3/4 cup (1 sticks) unsalted butter, melted or sliced thinly
- 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or white chocolate chips (optional toppings)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the strawberry pie filling (or homemade strawberry mix) evenly in the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the filling.
- Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much surface as possible. If using sliced butter, lay it evenly across the top.
- Add optional toppings like nuts, coconut, or white chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden and the edges are bubbly.
- Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
Notes
- This dessert can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
- For a fresher taste, use homemade strawberry mixture instead of canned filling.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for extra indulgence.
