Description

Delicious homemade sausage patties made with ground beef and spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (Make sure it’s cold before mixing.)
  • 1 tablespoon sage (Can be substituted with thyme or rosemary.)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (Optional for added heat.)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with sage, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, and crushed red pepper (if using). Use your hands to mix until all ingredients are well blended.
  2. Once mixed, take a handful of the sausage mix and form it into patties about 1/2 inch thick. You can make them any size you like, but keeping them uniform will help in cooking.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the sausage patties, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until they are brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 160°F.
  5. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes. Serve warm with your favorite breakfast items.

Notes

  • Make sure to keep the ground beef cold to ensure proper mixing and texture.
  • For added flavor, consider experimenting with additional herbs and spices.
